The following is an easy way for you to keep up with your home maintenance checklist every year. Take on one small thing at a time.
Keep in mind that small steps can add up to large results. If you dedicate some time to your home maintenance tasks – a few days a year, one afternoon a month, and two hours per week – your house will stay in top condition all year long.

Weekly house maintenance tasks
Your weekly house maintenance regimen will mainly be determined by your home’s features, but can include some of the tasks below:
Thoroughly vacuum all of your carpets. If you have hardwood floors, go over them with a big dust-mop.
Perform some bathroom maintenance. Once again, we are talking about doing a few small things. The following are some examples:
Use a Zip-It tool to clean out a drain that an individual with long hair uses.
Repair damaged tile grout in a tub or shower.
Clean the inside of one of your appliances and the outsides of all of them once a week. For example, if this week you clean out your refrigerator, next week add a cleaning tablet to your dishwasher, and then the next week wipe your dryer out.
Monthly house maintenance tasks
These refer to those projects that we know we should do on a regular basis but often we don’t ever get to them. Choose an afternoon, and then just go for it!
Clean your range filter and range.
Clean or replace your furnace filter. That will help your furnace to run more efficiently, which will keep your utility bills low.
Wipe down baseboards, dust light fixtures, and polish wood furniture. An Electric heating expert will check over everything is in its correct safe mode.
Check your carbon monoxide and smoke detectors to ensure they are functioning properly and don’t need to have new batteries. Make sure your fire extinguisher is fully charged if you have one.
Visually inspect the exterior of your house for issues or problems, like overgrown shrubbery or trees, insect nests, damaged siding, or loose shingles. Make a note to get these problems fixed!
Yearly house maintenance tasks
These are large tasks that need to be done once per year.
Organise and clean your attic, basement, or garage. Everyone dreads doing this maintenance task. However, after you are done you will feel great. You will also probably find some forgotten items that you can either sell online or donate to charity.
Wash your window screens and windows to let the sun in. Although this chore is frequently done in the springtime, it can be done at any time of year. If there is any problems or you want a revamp of windows, KJM Group will discuss all the options with you.
Perform one major outdoor home improvement project each year and schedule a few days to do it. For example, you may want to install some raised garden beds, patch up a concrete or asphalt driveway, refinish a deck, or install a fence.
Clean out your gutters, install wire grates over any holes to keep out pests, remove any shrubbery or trees that are encroaching on your house, and check under your eaves.
Fresh up one of the rooms in your house. Choose any room and provide it with a mini makeover. For example, you could add knickknacks and plants, move the furniture, switch curtains, or repaint to give the room an entirely new look. When you do this to one room each year, our entire house will look amazing within a few years.
